Jay Cline - Minister

I’ve had the privilege of ministering here at Northeast since August of 2011 and have been blessed to see God working through this congregation time and time again! My wife (Mandy) and I met while attending Harding University where I received my bachelors degree with a focus in Missions, and she received her bachelors degree in Social Sciences. We married in 2003, and shortly thereafter, were called to minister in China for 2 years! God tremendously blessed our efforts, and protected us while we taught in a College and planted a congregation. What motivates my ministry is a belief that God’s mission to have the good news preached extends to the very ends of the earth, but starts here where you are now. That mission is for everyone who has made Jesus their Lord… so we are all supposed to be involved! I love digging in the Word and finding answers to the hard questions in life, and teach/study with the idea that all scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching. It brings me such joy to be able to sit down with people and study with them, and watch the lights come on in their mind as they make connections and realize what God is saying to them through His Word!

Darne' DeVore - Youth Minister

God works in mysterious ways.  My wife (Heather) and I relocated from Southern California to Tennessee in 2021..  We settled near the Northeast Church of Christ and started worshiping with the local congregation.  God has now privileged my wife and I in positions of service to all the families of the Northeast congregation. I was born and raised in the Church of Christ, as my father served as minister and a teacher for nearly 60 years.  I personally served as an Associate Minister and Trustee at the Rialto Church of Christ in Rialto, CA for over 5 years.  I love studying the Word of God and have surrounded myself with Godly mentors and friends.  My ministry passions include studying Apologetics, comparative religions, and a doing a YouTube channel I created called the Devoritorium.  It’s designed as a tool for education, edification, and evangelism.  I have coached children and teen gymnastics for over 30 years.  I enjoy working with, mentoring and engaging the youth on their own personal journeys to Christ.  My favorite passage in the Bible is John 14:6 where Jesus declares Himself to be the exclusive “way, truth and life” and indeed the “only way” to the Father.  This is one of many passages that shows our eternal destiny resting on Jesus.

Judy Jones - Church Secretary

Judy has been married to her husband Lance since April 1968. Lance and Judy have one daughter (Traci) and three beautiful granddaughters (Emma, Ella Kate, and Eliza).  Both Lance and Judy were baptized thru studying with a dear friend and have been members at Northeast since 1970. She has served as a secretary at Northeast  since 1993.  Along with reading and cooking, Judy loves spending time with and spoiling her granddaughters. She is always happy to be available to help members with various projects or work they may need done.

Nancy Perry - Church Receptionist / Secretary

Reared in Middle Tennessee, Nancy has lived in East Tennessee since 1976. She enjoys her job and loves working in her yard and flowers and watching movies on Hallmark Channel.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
